Notes on fees

An account fee of $5 will be added if you do not pay on the day of consultation.

 

Fees vary depending on your age, your entitlements to subsidies and the
services we provide.

 

There may be additional charges for:

•       Longer consultations or additional services being provided

•       Patients who are not enrolled with the practice (i.e. casual patients or non-NZ residents)

•       After hours consultations

•       House visits (only undertaken in exceptional circumstances)

•       Nursing services

TERMS OF TRADE

​

The following Terms of Trade apply to services provided by Cashmere Medical Practice to its patients.

Cashmere Medical Practice does not hold patient accounts.  Accepted methods of payment are: Eftpos, Credit Card, Cash, internet banking, automatic payments (American Express and cheque payments are not accepted).

Enrolled patients

​

By enrolling at Cashmere Medical Practice you agree to our Terms of Trade. You will have received a copy of this document when you enrol.

Our fee schedule is available on request and is displayed in the waiting room.

Payment is expected on the day.

If you are unable to pay at the time of consultation $5 is added to your invoice for administration. If you pay within 14 days this additional payment is removed.

Outstanding accounts

​

During the first week of each month, unpaid fees/accounts are sent via text but can be posted to those without cellphones or who have identified as no SMS on their patient enrolment.

If an account remains unpaid after 30 days a second reminder is sent.

After 60 days a further reminder is sent and we will inform you as to whether your account will be sent to a Debt Collection Agency, for which you will be liable for costs incurred.

We welcome Automatic Payments – this can be a good way to pay your bill in small regular amounts.

Please talk to us if you are having difficulties paying your account.

We would be very concerned if any patient deferred seeking medical treatment due to the cost. If this is the case please talk to your doctor or the practice manager.

Non-attendance Fee

​

Failure to attend for your appointment or late cancellation may incur an administration charge. This charge is $25. This applies to all patient age and subsidy groups. Appointments are always in high demand.

Repeat prescriptions

 

Repeat prescriptions via phone or the patient portal will not be given if there is an outstanding account.

Standard GP Consultation

 

A standard GP consultation is 15 minutes duration . The doctor is able to complete one complex or 2 simple matters. The doctor will advise you if multiple requests or a list cannot be met within that standard consultation.  Referrals and letters that require additional time may incur additional charges.

Extended consultations.

The Commerce Commission allows businesses to pass on Credit Card transactions costs to customers who choose to pay by this method. The doctors at Cashmere Medical Practice have opted not to pass on charges at this time. Variations to the Terms of Trade may occur from time to time and this will be displayed in the surgery.
